Noida Metro Extension of Delhi Metro.

 

 

The Yamuna Bank – NOIDA section of the Delhi Metro has been for the general public from 13th November 2009. With this, the Delhi Metro has crossed the borders of Delhi for the first time. NOIDA has become the first National Capital Region (NCR) city to be connected to the Metro network which now extends to almost 90 kms and covers 78 stations.The length of the section is 13.1 kms and it ahs 10 stations namely are Yamuna Bank, Akshardam Temple, Mayur Vihar – I, Mayur Vihar Ext., New Ashok Nagar (in Delhi), NOIDA Sector 15, NOIDA Sector 16, NOIDA Sector 18, Botanical Garden, Golf Course and NOIDA City Centre (Sector 32). This line is completely elevated.

The 2.1 kms section from Indraprastha to Yamuna Bank began commercial operations on 10th May 2009 while the 13.1 section of Yamuna Bank to Noida City Centre began operations on 12th November 2009.

Line III (Noida City Centre - Dwarka Sector 9) covers a distance of 47.3 Kms approx. The frequency varies 8 minutes at peak hours and 12 minutes in non peak hours. The 32.1 Kms section between Noida City Centre - Dwarka Sector 9 section is covered in 1 hour 20 minutes approximately.

The Metro Trains run from 6/00 AM in the morning till about 11/00 PM in the night.

May 24, 2011 Greater Noida Authority , Yamuna Expressway Authority approves Metro Plan...

The Noida, Greater Noida and Yamuna Expressway authorities on Monday have planned for large scale infrastructure development across Gautam Budh Nagar district. In a joint board meeting, the major focus of the Authorities remained on providing connectivity within the district as well as with Delhi.

To begin with, the authorities have approved a major detailed extension of the Metro route connecting almost all of Noida and Greater Noida at a cost of Rs 10,000 crores, covering a total of 86 km. The route is estimated to be ready in the next three years.

Besides extending the existing city centre Metro route connecting Kalindi Kunj and Botanical Garden, a new line from the City Centre station in sector 32 to sector 62, touching NH-24, was also approved. This new 6-km route will be via sector 71 crossing and will provide connectivity to sectors 32, 34, 35, Hoshiarpur, sectors 51, 52, 71, Greater Noida Extension Marg, Sarfabad, sectors 60, 61, 62, 63 and NH 24.

A new loop from sector 71 via sector 121 will then join the Greater Noida route between the City Centre and Bodaki railway station in Greater Noida. This route will be from City Centre along the Greater Noida Expressway, touching Knowledge Park 4 via Pari Chowk and will finally end at Bodaki. The new loop has been added mainly to connect Noida extension that falls near sector 121 with Noida as well as with Greater Noida.

GREATER NOIDA: Work on the proposed Metro link between Noida sector 32 and Greater Noida is expected to begin soon. Greater Noida Authority officials say that the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation has submitted its final Detailed Project Report and they are currently examining it.
