Located amidst vast, green, unspoiled environment in sector Delta-I, Greater Noida, is an upcoming school, Bhartiyam School. Bhartiyam School is a balanced blend of Indian values, culture and modern, international teaching methodologies. We are accredited Maple Bear Early Childhood Learning Center- a Canadian Education Center Initiative.

At Bhartiyam School we want out students to benefit from the ancient Indian art of yoga as well as from the new age teaching techniques of learning by doing. We encourage our students to seek out opportunities to try new things and make most of the world around them. We teach our students reading with the help of phonics; we do math-drills based on Japanese way of teaching math; we do emotive reading and at the same time we teach our students the ever enlightening "Gayatri Mantra" and "Pranayam"

Our goal is to inculcate in our students the best of both he easteren and western worlds- a child deeply rooted into the Indian values and also growing rapidly upwards towards the modern age methodologies. We follow Maple Bear Methodology for our pre-school.

Maple Bear Methodology

Thoroughly researched and based on the Canadian system of early childhood learning. The Maple Bear programme is customized for the Indian Children and brings in a methodology, which is much more then plaway and is unique in India. The Maple Bear Canadian Program for our children is designed to educate and develop the whole child intellectually, physically, emotionally and socially.

The uniqueness of he Maple Bear methodology lies in the integration of all subjects to create a varied and stimulating fun-filled learning environment for children. It is this environment that encourages and enables a child to build on these stimuli so taat their imagination, creativity and problem solving abilities are developed and honed.

Competence in language reading, mathematics, science and technology is developed systematically. Teachers integrate subject knowledge into a variety of active techniques suitable to the developmental stages of the children.

As the maple bear methodology features we used a variety of learning spaces for independent and small or large group activities. As most children need to be active there are a variety of learning areas or centers to provide for the different needs, interests and ages of the children.

Art Center

Sience and Technology

This center has painting and drawing materials, scissors, glue, tap and a variety of papers to allow the children to explore and express their feelings, ideas and translate their learning into a art form.
Children will be able to identify patterns and cycles in nature using their own observations. eg. sprouting of seed, opening of buds, falling leaves etc. and understand the natural world and its care. They will work with others in using technology. eg share tools, build as a group and work in pairs at the computer.

Blocks and manipulative toys encourage the children to design, create and build.
This area provides the children with props and playing house, hospital, or store. These are also puppets and dress-up clothes for imaginative play.

Other Activities

Art and music are integrated into all aspects of the Maple Bear Early Childhood program. Various creative activities and media are used to teach a given theme. Children learn to communicate through music, art, drama and dance. They show an appreciations of art works, fold songs and dances in their own and other countries.

Besides these activities at respective centers, these are various teacher-directed group activities in which the children are encouraged to join. These daily activities include story telling calendar and weather games. Newa sharing as well as outdoor play to help develop the child's physical and large motor skills.

The Bharatiyam Curriculum- Core Components

There are puzzles and table games for the children to share, think, problem solving and develop their small motor skills.
A priority of the child centered programme at Bhartiyam is Language Arts. Children will not only learn how to read but will also develop a love of reading which is a skill for life.

Each classroom maintains a well-equipped library with a wide range of books as well as audio and video learning aids for encouraging reading and listening
The language Arts program is part of an integrated day. It promotes communication and literary skills and an awareness of the relationship between sounds and letters. The development of language or language competency is built by the Bhartiyam curriculum through a series of activities.

Manipulative material for chidren to sort, count, classify measure and learning number sense.
Children compute and write at the center which is stocked with papers pencils markers and crayons the younger children write their stories as drawings and the teacher writes the dictated story.
Music Center

Physical Skills and Well Beinf

The simple musical instruments which may have been purchased or made by the children, and the materials available to produce sound, encourage the children to experiment eith sound, tempo and rythm.
Children will be encouraged to participate in creative movements, dance and other daily physical activities with an awareness of safety rules to encourage flexibility to become physically active and to work cooperatively with others.

The Bharatiyan System of Assessments.
Found treasures are shared here. Rocks, nests, insects, bones and shells may make their way to this area. Magnets, balances books and a magnifying glass encourage children to observe and investigate.
The Bhartiyam system of assessment is based on the child's performance on a day to day basis at the center and in the class rather then on examination. All assessments are done at the discretion of the principal and performance reports are sent periodically to the parents. These performance reports with the assessments determine promotions from one class to the next. The Bhartiyam School prepares students to qualify for the next class and further studies in any Indian or foreign board system.
