Australia's foreign minister Stephen Smith on Tuesday told parliament some of the recent violence against Indian students had clearly been racially motivated and had "considerably damaged" the nation's reputation.

Lucknow high court on Monday directed the Noida authorities to open the seal of mobile towers in Noida within 24 hours. The order came from the division bench of Justice Pradeep Kant and Justice Ritu Raj Awasthi of Lucknow bench on a writ petition filed by Indus Towers, a company which has installed around 100 mobile towers of different mobile companies.

The commuters had a harrowing time on Monday with traffic going out of gear on Capital’s roads. While the traffic police had prepared themselves for the Jat rally at Ramlila Grounds and the drizzle, the breakdown of the Metro services on the Noida-Dwarka line for nearly three hours left nearly 10,000 passengers stranded. Heavy jams in several areas affected the traffic flow and led to huge pile up of vehicles.

Yamuna Expressway Authority says allotments of the allotees of sector 18 and 20 schemes of 2009 would be cancelled if they have have failed to deposit the instalment on time. YEA has asked the banks to provide the detailed list of the amoinut deposited by the allottees within a week, says a report.
